Mmm...pickles...

So we've always had a pickle ornament on our tree, but we've never hidden it and given out prizes to the person who finds it. We just hang it up on our tree like any other ornament. So don't expect me to send you a gift for commenting, "I'm the first to find the pickle!" 'Cause, you know, I'm cheap. What a weird tradition, anyway. Where does it originate?
