Happy Halloween!!!

Is anyone else handing out candy? Does anyone else have a severe lack of trick-or-treaters? What up? I mean, it's not exactly balmy weather but I distinctly recall trick-or-treating during a friggin' freezing rain storm. Kids are pansies these days.

As I watch people outside, it strikes me how weird this holiday is. You've got parents walking along the sidewalk as kids run up to your door wearing weird costumes and demand candy. Think about how many houses have people sitting around in their living room with a bowl of candy just waiting around for their doorbell to ring. Weird.

I've been playing horror movies in my living room (which people can see from the street). It was a bit awkward, however, as the first one I played was Friday the 13th pt. 2. Which has numerous scenes of nudity and sexual-like encounters. I kept trying to fast-forward through them. I'm not too keen on having little kids look at our house and see things that they perhaps shouldn't see. Now I'm playing the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Yoinks, I just saw a particularly gross scene. And another girl is goin' down soon, I foretell! I think this is the part where she gets killed by being hung on a meat hook. Waiting...waiting...waiting...yep. Ouch. That dude in the wheelchair in this movie is so damn annoying. Seriously, kill him soon.

I carved 2 pumpkins today. They're not that great, though. I'm impatient.
My dad, for whatever reason, decided to rent a gorilla costume for Halloween this year. So he sat out on our porch on our rocking chair and as kids were getting our candy he'd jump up at them. We freaked the hell out of 3 middle school girls. Anyway, here's a picture of the gorilla eating pumpkin seeds in our house.

Riley (my niece) loves dogs. Her favorite thing to say is "woof." So she was a dog for Halloween. I didn't see her, but my mom was up there and she took some pics. For your viewing pleasure, here are some Doggy Riley pics:
